Packaging & corrugated questions, answered

Short-run economics, colour consistency, substrates and choosing the right press.

Is digital corrugated printing worth it for short runs?

Yes — this is exactly where digital has the biggest edge over offset or flexo. Single-pass digital presses skip plate-making entirely, so short-run and on-demand jobs (increasingly 30-45% of packaging orders) are profitable in a way analogue methods cannot match.

How consistent is colour across runs and substrates?

Kyocera printhead technology paired with proper colour management holds tight tolerances, but colour genuinely does shift with board coating, humidity and substrate batch. We help set realistic ΔE targets per substrate and build the profiling into your workflow, rather than treating colour as a one-time setup.

What substrates do these presses support?

The Hanway range supports white, kraft and coated corrugated board, with water-based pigment ink options for recyclable and food-adjacent applications, and UV inkjet options for maximum coverage and fast cure.

How fast can we change over between jobs?

Digital changeovers typically run minutes rather than the 30-60 minutes common on analogue equipment — several models in this range changeover in under 2 minutes, which is what makes multi-SKU, short-run production genuinely practical.

Which press suits our volume?

Entry-level single-pass presses (HighJet, Revo 2500W) suit businesses moving into digital corrugated for the first time. Production-scale presses (Glory 1604, 160X HD) suit growing operations. High-volume industrial lines (Glory 2504, Elite 2504) suit continuous, multi-SKU production. Tell us your typical run length and SKU count and we can recommend a fit.

Do you provide installation and ongoing support?

Yes — full sales, installation, training and technical support across Australia and New Zealand, including spares and consumables, so your press stays production-ready.
